Sierra Hope Foundation, Inc. is an organization dedicated to aiding the underprivileged and the privileged populations that are suffering from breast cancer. The foundation has a major concern about the rising cases of cancer in the USA and Africa. According to the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), in 2008, Africa had about 715,000 new cancer cases and 542,000 deaths resulting from cancer, which could have been easily prevented and/or treated if early detection had occurred.

American Cancer Society’s annual report, provides that in 2014, there will an estimated 1,665,540 new cancer cases diagnosed and 585,720 cancer deaths in the United States. Cancer remains the second most common cause of death in the USA, accounting for nearly 1 out of every 4 deaths.

More than one-half of all deaths resulting from cancer could be prevented by making wise health choices: avoid smoking, maintain a healthy weight level, make healthy food choices, keep active, and get the medical recommended screening test for early detection.

Sierra Hope Foundation, Inc. is sharing its unique expertise with other cancer prevention organizations, advocacy groups, and health care professionals that are dedicated to the long-term initiative of sharing information that will ultimately save lives.

Whether you are a victim of cancer or close to someone who does, understanding what to expect will assist you in making wise decisions.
